Special Art Post: Cancer - when your dementors are real.
Before I get up the absolutely ginormous picspam of the Borders Event, I would like to do a couple of things:
First off, huge hugs to
lizardspots and
simons_flower. Tough times should never be experienced alone. We're with you.
Secondly, enormous birthday hugs to
maple_mahogany, who, like Deena, unfailingly coerces me into drawing restricted art. Now THAT'S talent. :) (For real, if I'm missing anyone on these birthdays, tell me!)
Finally, this is pretty important.
Those who attended the Borders Event were given the opportunity to submit their names to a special raffle to win the artwork pictured below. For $5 a raffle ticket, you can submit your name to win the original artwork - it's framed and matted - and 100% of the proceeds will go to Relay For Life: Arlington, contributing to The American Cancer Society's mission to bring us closer to a cure for Cancer. On April 28th alone, the raffle raised $80.00.
All who buy a raffle ticket will receive a free 11x13 print of "Seeker No More." (Just in case you need an incentive!) To purchase one ticket, Paypal $5.00 to me via mudblood428 @ yahoo . com and the money will be immediately transferred to the Relay For Life page (unfortunately, the team pages won't accept online donations less than $10). To purchase two raffle tickets for $10.00, go straight to my Relay For Life page below:
My Relay Page!
I have asked Reed Jarrell of Borders Bookstore, Bailey's Crossroads to do the drawing, [date TBA]. That way it's fair and unbiased. Sound good?
And now, the POA art you voted for!
Title: "Expecto Patronum!"
Medium: Colored Pencil, Ink
Rating: PG for scary Dementor
Characters: Remus Lupin, Harry Potter, Boggart!Dementor
Summary: [Lupin] pulled off the lid of the case for the third time, and the Dementor rose out of it; the room fell cold and dark –
“EXPECTO PATRONUM!” Harry bellowed. “EXPECTO PATRONUM! EXPECTO PATRONUM!”
…[H]e could still see the Dementor – it had halted – and then a huge, silver shadow came bursting out of the end of Harry’s wand to hover between him and the Dementor, and though Harry’s legs felt like water, he was still on his feet… - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Thank you in advance for your help! :)
